Welcome Matthew

Matthew Scott Settle was born November 15 at 4:52 p.m.
He weighed 8lbs and 6.5 ozs.
He was 20 1/2 inches long.

All are doing really well. I got a little queasy and had to sit down during the epidural, but managed through the delivery just fine. Matthew would have weighed more but he peed on me before the nurses officially weighed him; I think Carol deserves credit for at least 8 1/2 pounds. Carol says she is more relaxed this time and is up for some phone calls and visits (call first). -RO

Here's Carol getting ready at 5:30am to head into the hospital for delivery.

And afterwards, she still looks great!

You can see me off in the corner, in the chair I slept in for 2 days. The funny thing about being a dad during this time is that you're almost 100% invisible to the doctors and nurses, or at best an afterthought. Even your wristband has your wife's name. Rightfully so, but it's an odd feeling.

Halloween and A Bun In The Oven

For Halloween I dressed up as "A Bun in the Oven" and R.O. was the bun maker. Turner was a lion!

Turner really enjoyed Halloween this year! We went to four Halloween parties and trick or treating Halloween night. Turner got tired of putting on his lion costume, so I told him that lions get candy. From then on all he wanted to wear was his costume. **Turner won a prize for best costume! He was so proud!**

Turner helped scoop all the goop out of the pumpkin. He thought that was awesome. He didn't want to touch it with his hands, but was o.k. using the spoon. His favorite part was having RO light the pumpkin, then blowing out the candles. It was a daily ritual to light the pumpkin at least 3 times.

Carol's Baby Shower

On October 23, 2007, I was given a shower for Matthew.

This is me at 35 weeks......

Kristina and Ginny planned a yellow theme for the shower (my favorite color)! Everything was so beautiful! I felt like Martha Stewart was in charge.

Believe it or not these are all cupcakes (delicious cupcakes) grouped together to create a cake. This was so creative!
